2015 CPPA Annual meeting, 11/7/15, at the Embassy Suites in Valencia, CA

9:03 am……..Meeting begins.

ALL CPPA Board Members present, except ……Jerd, McGinity& Bednar

TREASURER’S REPORT....Read and presented to all members at the annual meeting.

All CPPA accounts are in good standings.  We made more than we spent.  We made money on State Match.  No money for targets.  This was done to reduce account balance in prior years.  Membership is up.  Reminder: all Match Sponsors are responsible for paying the $50 Sponsor fee for the Annual Meeting location costs.  This will be Helen’s last report.  Report accepted.

MINUTES...minutes from meeting at SD Regional Match 8/21/15, read and accepted.

BY-LAWS......Nothing new.

RULES COMMITTEE… Members to vote on “Distinguished Match Points”.  Vote on rule change passed.

MEMBERSHIP….. 12 new CPPA members for 2015.

Life members information needs to be updated on “LIFE” members for any (address) corrections.

All Match Sponsors were asked to try to bring on new members.

MATCH SPONSORS Santa Cruz match still in program and will do a match for 2016.  The “ICE” match is dropped, but kept on list for one year.  Their problem is with range availability with the LBPD range.  The other LAPD#2 team and match sponsor status was discussed.  They want to return to the CPPA match program.  They had been dropped in 2012.  LAPD#2 will be placed on the bottom of sponsor’s list for seniority.

STATS AND RECORDS.......Nothing for CPPA.  The NRA never received or lost the 2015 “Postal Match” results.  John Koon had to resend the postal cards.

DISTINGUISHED MATCH........The 2015 final standings were discussed with the membership.  After voting to approve the trial proposal to pool all distinguished matches. Awarded points were based on highest individual scores in the distinguished pool list.  Using this new program there were five (5) semi-auto points and four (4) revolver points awarded to CPPA shooters for 2015.  One shooter legged out in the “Semi-auto class”, Al Mason.  There are four (4) semi-auto and one (1) revolver distinguished badges availably in the CPPA program.  We will need to re-order in the future.

Note: Under this new distinguished program all sponsors can have distinguished matches and the scores will be submitted to distinguished pool for year-end results and standings.

PUBLICATIONS. Jeremy David wanted to run the CPPA website.  Per John Koon, he has had access, since June 2015.  John Koon can run website to post scores.  We need to contact Jeremy David (not present), if he is going to take care of the website.  John Koon will do scoring.

Match flyers and match results are also posted on the website.  Send any pictures from matches to John Koon for posted on website at this time.  John Koon will post the results for 2015.   johnkoon@pacbell.net

Membership to vote on Distinguished program rule change at annual meeting.  Treasurer position is available with Helen Papietro moving to Arizona.   Jermey David indicated he wanted the position.

Membership all voted in favor of distinguished rule change.

Mike Tangas’s letter to NRA discussed.  NRA made a proposal to drop the “revolver” matches from the NPSC (National Police Shooting Championships) in the next 3-4 years.  The majority of shooters want the NPSC to keep the revolver matches.  The NRA website noted the change and there was an overwhelming support for the revolver matches at the 2015 NPSC competitor’s meeting.  The meeting was overloaded with shooters supporting the revolver programs.

The NRA was having its annual law enforcement programs meeting in November 2015 and it was proposed to send a spokes person from the CPPA.  The 2015 National Champion Robert Vadasz was planning to attend the NRA meeting.  The CPPA membership proposed sending Mike Tangas to the NRA meeting represent the CPPA association.

Motion for the CPPA to fund expenses for Mike Tangas to attend the NRA meeting was voted on and approved.

All BOD members will email Koon prior to banquet on status of assignments.

Discussed Banquet costs for 2015 being too high.  Explained that charges by restaurant are up and also cost of banquet room.  Advise Yoshida/Koon to try to keep cost under $40.00.

Match Sponsors should be submitting their NRA applications as early as possible for inclusion in the NRA magazine(s). Match Sponsors need to send FLYERS to J. Koon-ASAP for posting on website.  Law Enforcement only on flyers.  Military Police are ok.  Koon can do a mass emailing.

Note-Sponsors can do one NRA match or both, but limit cost to $35.00.

Match sponsors should have their match flyers posted on the website at least one month before the match.

Jeremy David would like to take over the computer book contract from John Koon.  David will contact John Koon and discuss the change.  The CPPA pays $1000.00 for the computer book services.  David and Koon will advise CPPA BOD of this change.
